Financial Assistance

APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE MUST BE COMPLETED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE APPLICATION TO THE SCHOOL.

St. Michael’s College School offers a generous bursary programme for those requiring financial assistance with tuition and incidentals. Rarely are full bursaries awarded as there is an expectation that families applying will bear some financial responsibility for their son’s education.

Please note that all decisions made by the bursary committee are final.

WHAT IS A BURSARY?

A bursary is financial assistance for tuition requirements given to families who qualify based on financial need and academic standing.

Grades 7 and 8 candidates may be eligible for a bursary award of up to 50% of tuition. Grades 9-12 may be eligible for up to 100% of tuition.

HOW DOES ONE APPLY FOR A BURSARY?

Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) applications are completed online at applefinancialservices.ca.

Families are to follow the instructions to create a login and complete the application. Direct all bursary application inquiries to Apple Financial Services: 1-866-437-7795.

Applicants should allocate sufficient time to complete the financial assistance application and secure proper documentation as incomplete applications will not be processed.

Please note the bursary programme is only open to Canadian citizens.

WHEN DOES ONE APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

The deadline to apply for financial assistance is the same as the application deadline and is always the first Friday in December.

Financial assistance applications submitted after the deadline may result in funds not being guaranteed.

WHEN IS ONE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE BURSARY?

The St. Michael’s College School Bursary Committee reviews all applications in conjunction with the recommended funding values provided by Apple Financial Services to arrive at a funding amount. A value notification will be sent with the Offer of Admission. If admission is not offered, there will be no bursary value notification. Families are responsible for paying the difference between the bursary amount offered and the total fees owed.

For more information, please contact Mrs. Kim Celotti at celotti@smcsmail.com or 416-653-3180 ext. 500.
